Doug Monter Scholarship Winner!

The 2018 Doug Monter Scholarship Recipient is Mr. Wesley Seger from Sargent High School. He is currently involved in extra curricular activities such as; FBLA, NHS, FFA, Knowledge Bowl and Matchwits. Wesley is very involved in the community with a wide range of Community Service.  Wesley plans to attend CSU Fort Collins, in the Fall to pursue an education in Mechanical Engineering. He plans to use his degree to benefit large companies such as John Deere and later bring his expertise back to the family farm.

Adams State Grizzlies Take On Colorado Mines Orediggers On January 27, Colorado Potatoes sponsored the Adams State University Men’s and Women’s basketball teams as they took on the Colorado School of Mines. 2017 Spud Bowl Queen

A Long Standing Tradition On November 4, the 71st  annual Spud Bowl was held at at Adams State University.  The tradition began in 1946 when potato farmers in the San Luis Valley would donate potatoes to the University that would be converted into cash to supplement the athletic program.  Spud Bowl continues to be a highlight of the football season to this day.  Each year, Adams State University and the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee partner to award scholarships and crown a Spud Bowl Queen.
