Margaret’s Potato Buns – Margaret


  • 1 cup war water
  • 1  tablespoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup mashed potatoes
  • 2  cups flour


Mix together water, yeast, salt, sugar, cooking oil, and mashed potatoes. Stir in all the flour you can, then knead in remaining flour ( if needed add more flour till dough is not sticky, but moderately stiff) Shape dough into a ball, pour over additional 2 tab cup cooking oil. Let rise in a warm place till double in size. Then shape into balls 1 inch in size. Place on  a greased cookie sheet. Let double in size again. Bake at 350 fro 20 minutes or till golden brown. Remove from oven butter tops and enjoy!
