Potato Sausage Stew
Servings: 6-8
Ingredients
- 1 lb. German sausage
- 1 lb. Polish sausage
- 1 Onion, cut in wedges
- 6-8 Carrots, cut in long thin slices
- 4-5 Pieces celery, cut in 2 in. chunks
- 4-5 med. Potatoes, peeled & cut in wedges
- Half a head of cabbage, cut in 4 wedges
- 1 can Tomato soup
- 1 soup can Water
- Seasoned salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
Cut the sausages in 2in. slices and cook in a large dutch oven over med. heat. While sausage is cooking, cut the vegetables and add them to the pot as they are cut. Add cabbage wedges last and place on top. Pour the soup and water over the vegetables and salt and pepper them to tast. Bring to a boil, cover, and turn to low heat. Simmer for at least an hour. Stew is better if slowly cooked for about 3 hours. Serves 6-8. Can be cooked in a crockpot all day, also.
