Colorado Potato Industry Donates to Local Food Bank

Rising to the Challenge

The Monte Vista Food Bank has received great support from the Colorado potato industry over the years.  It is rare for them to ever be out of potatoes!  However, they are always in need of support from the community to keep their shelves stocked.  This need is especially high during the holidays.

This year, we challenged the entire Colorado Potato industry to help ensure that the local Monte Vista Food Bank remains well-stocked for the holidays and beyond.  The Colorado Potato industry delivered, donating $3,950, for which Colorado Potatoes matched $500, for a grand total of $4,450!

Food Bank Donations

On December 15, Trish Jones from the Monte Vista Food Bank visited the Colorado Potatoes office, where she was presented with the money that was raised.  Roger Mix and Mark Peterson, Colorado potato growers, stopped in to thank Trish for all of the hard work that she does and that the Monte Vista Food Bank does to support our local community.

Colorado Potatoes would like to thank everyone who donated.  It was with your help that we could give back to our community in such a meaningful way.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us at Colorado Potatoes!
